Lake Livingston Camping

camping on lake livingstonIf you love to camp, Lake Livingston has the perfect camping spot for you. You can camp among the pine trees, or you can choose a more modern campground. Many of the campgrounds offer electricity and water. You can choose to camp in a state park, a park ran by Trinity River Authority, or a privately owned campground.

We do not make reservations for any of the campsites, you will need to contact the campsite that you are interested in to make your reservations.

Lake Livingston State Park

Pictures of Lake Livingston State ParkThe Lake Livingston State Park is located at 300 Park Rd 65. It is a beautiful area with alot of activites for everyone.

The park covers 635.5 acres along Lake Livingston. It offers campgrounds, screened shelters, boat ramps, a marina, horsback riding, picnic area, and a swimming pool. There are fees associated with park entrance and camping. For information on current fees see the Lake Livingston State Park link. You can make reservations online. The campsites offer sites with water, electricty and water, or electricity, water and sewer. You will also find restrooms with shower facilities. Many of the sites are right on the water, or within close walking distance. There is also a trailer dump facility right in the park.

shelters at lake livingstonThere are 10 screened shelters that you can stay in. Reservations are required for the screened shelters. The shelters have an inside picnic table, and an upstairs bunk area for sleeping.

The park has great fishing. You can expect to catch crappie, perch, catfish, and bass. You can catch fish right from the shore, or in a boat. The marina is open from March - Oct. The marina has bait just in case you run out. There are fish cleaning stations located in the park, so you can take care of your daily catch.

If you like horseback riding, this is a great place to ride. The lake has an onsite stable. You can enjoy a Guided Trail Ride, or take on of the breakfast or dinner rides There are fees associated with horseback riding, please see the Lake Livingston State Park Equestrian Page, for more information. Texas Parks and Wildlife now offer guided tours through the park. You can even have a chance to fish with a Ranger. Visit the Texas Parks and Wildlife Events Calendar to plan your visit.

The Store and Marina located with in the park is privately operated. You can shop for groceries, ice, bait, tackle, firewood, camping and RV supplies. If you want a souvenirs of your visit, just visit the store.Mountain Bike Rentals are available for rental at the marina. If you don't have a boat, and would like to rent one the marina rents rowboats, kayaks, canoes, and paddleboats. The store is conveniently located in front of the lighted fishing pier. Wolf Creek Park

pictures of wolf creek parkWolf Creek Park is managed by the Trinitry River Authority. It is a great place for the family to get away for a weekend of camping. You can enjoy, watersports, fishing and boating. There are fees associated with the park.

The park is open from March 1 - Nov 30. Please see the TRA/Wolf Creek Park website for up to date fees. Reservarions are recommended, call 936-653-4312 for reservations. Wolf Creek Park is located near Cape Royale. Cape Royale has alot of deer roaming in the streets of the communities. Occassionally you may see deer in Wolf Creek Park. Small wildlife is abundant through out the park. If you like to golf, Cape Royale has an 18 hole golf course. Bring your clubs, enjoy a day of camping, fishing and golf.

picnic at wolf creekWolf Creek Park has 30 campsites for RV's with water and electricity. There is 54 tent sites with water and electricity, and 19 tent sites with water only. Many of the campsites are located right on the water. There are a few sites that are within walking distance of the water.

The park has a marina. You can purchase groceriers, and fishing supplies. They even have boat rentals.
